The Gershman Y’s Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival (PJFF) seeks a part-time seasonal Program Assistant to join its team during key months in its 2015-16 Season. The Program Assistant will assist the PJFF Director with carrying out key responsibilities while preparing for and executing the October Pre-Fest and November Festival, and will also work in early 2016 to assist with preparations for its spring series, PJFF CineMondays. Duties include coordinating outreach and group sales, PJFF volunteer schedule, brochure distribution; assisting with speaker scheduling, event planning and production, box office duties, film and speaker research, development of written materials and social media campaigns; and other administrative duties as needed. The PJFF Program Assistant should possess an undergraduate degree and be interested in film, art, history, and/or Jewish culture. He/She must be a competent, creative, and thoughtful writer, a good communicator, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. He/She must be highly organized, reliable, and resourceful, able to multi-task different assignments simultaneously, while keeping up with deadlines. He/She must be confident speaking on the phone, leading volunteers of all ages, and dealing with the greater Philadelphia cultural arts community. He/She must be easy to work with, friendly, and possess a professional demeanor. Must be able to work very flexible hours (overall average is 20 hours per week) including evenings and weekends during programming periods. Starting date around September 1.
